La Maison des Tournesols

La Maison des Tournesols offers B&B and self-catering holiday accommodation in the beautiful Poitou-Charentes region of central western France. It is situated in the relaxed hamlet of Les Touches, in the department of Deux-Sèvres. Close to the market town of Niort, the area is on the edge of Marais-Poitevin, also known as the Green Venice (la Venise Verte).

The Marais-Poitevin was designated as a European Destination of Excellence (EDEN) by the EU in 2010 in recognition of its sustainable tourism and stunning environment. With its tranquil waterways, this area of outstanding natural beauty is ideal for walking, cycling and boating. The historic port of La Rochelle and the sandy beaches of the Ile de Ré are also close by.

Renovated in 2008, the chambres d'hotes (B&B) features three comfortable double bedrooms, plus one-twin bedroom - all with en-suite bathrooms. Our new family gite, Fleurs de Soleil, sleeps up to seven people. Helianthus, our studio gite, provides self-catering accommodation for two people.

New for the 2011 summer season we have built a swimming pool and sun terrace in a walled garden to the front of the main house.

All areas have free internet access. For the convenience and safety of our guests, we operate a no smoking policy throughout and do not cater for pets.
